Childbirth & Prenatal Series

8-Week Series

Who you choose to care for you during pregnancy and birth shapes your entire experience. This class helps you understand the different types of maternity care providers, how hospital systems work, and how to build a birth team that aligns with your values, needs, and preferences. You’ll learn what questions to ask, how to assess fit, and how to make confident decisions — whether you’re early in pregnancy or considering a change in care.
The first stage of labor is about dilation, effacement, and baby’s descent — and how you move can make a meaningful difference. This class focuses exclusively on positions and movements that support cervical change, help labor progress, and reduce exhaustion during early and active labor. You’ll learn how to use gravity, asymmetry, and position changes at home or in the hospital, including what to do if labor slows or feels intense — with or without pain medication.
Most people are taught to push harder — not smarter. This class focuses on practical, physiology-based pushing strategies that support efficient descent, reduce exhaustion, and help protect the pelvic floor. You’ll learn how to work with your body’s natural urges, use breath and sound instead of breath-holding, and choose positions that open the pelvis and make pushing more effective.
We’ll cover how small changes — like when you start pushing, how you breathe, and where you place your body — can significantly shorten the second stage of labor and reduce the likelihood of tearing or operative vaginal delivery. You’ll also learn how tools like the squat bar, sheets, and partner support can make pushing feel more productive and less overwhelming.
This class is designed to help you birth your baby with greater ease, whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth or using an epidural.
There’s no one right way to diaper. In this session, we’ll explore three different approaches to diapering — disposable diapers, cloth diapers, and elimination communication — so you can understand how each works, what’s realistic for your life, and how many families mix methods. You’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and practical tips to choose what supports your baby and your sanity.
This practical, non-judgmental class helps you understand how epidurals actually work, what procedures and policies often come with them, and the risks and side effects to be aware of — plus how to mitigate them. You’ll learn positioning, movement, and advocacy strategies that support labor progress, reduce unnecessary interventions, and protect your pelvic floor, so you can have a more connected, informed birth experience — with or without a planned epidural.
Create a flexible birth plan (what we at Boober call "the Birth Preferences Sheet" that helps you feel empowered and heard — no matter how your labor unfolds.
Get ready for the first magical (and messy) hours with your baby — from skin-to-skin to first feeds and everything in between.
Prepare for life after birth — set up your support systems, manage expectations, and learn what true recovery takes.
